Venturing into a new marble, tackling with it and inventing it just as I, in times past, used to be climbing and opening new paths up mountains, the straightest and most esthetical way being always a combination of continuous difficulties and beauties. Sensations through one’s eyes, sensations through one’s hand on the rock. Through the unknown breaching what was planned. Through the necessity of keeping a difficulty occurring on the way up under control. Through places where volumes as well as rocky, snowy and icy landscapes alter as one progresses. So many occasions to heed risks and happy astonishments, as one proceeds through overwhelming surroundings. So many developing beauties which, as an addition to realism, keep making a way up, keep trying to find that way up and extricate it clear-cut. (Translated by Michèle Bustros)
